In this tutorial we're going to go over how to make a wine bottle from scratch. It’s not a long tutorial but I hope that won’t make it less fun. Enjoy!
Photo manipulations have always been one of the most tackling and time consuming techniques in the graphic world, so in this tutorial I will be showing some techniques specific, but not limited, to photo manipulations.
In this tutorial we’re going to go over fixing pictures that have been taken with a cheap point-and-shoot camera. It’s something a lot of people don’t know how to do so read on and be amazed.
Look for inspiration in sources from the real world by really looking at the world with new eyes.
Every now and again I stumble onto a technique which is so simple and effective that it has to be shared. I like to call this one the “Manual shaded threshold” technique. The name stems from the not so popular anymore effect of Threshold, which turns an image into just black and white based on light values. The original effect is messy and weird and never got things just right, so this is where the “Manual shaded threshold” technique comes in.
When we think Alice in Wonderland, most likely the image of the Mad Hatter comes to mind. In this tutorial/case study we’ll try to turn a regular Joe into the Mad Hatter himself. And, hopefully, we’ll pull it off. Now, I’m sure just about everyone is familiar with the story of Alice in Wonderland.
Our latest posts have mostly been about design, so today we’re going full on code monkey with a cool CSS3 technique: Vignettes! The technique involves a few divs, a bit of simple CSS, and a whole lot of fun.

Sometimes achieving a certain effect seems easy with a quick fix. But what separates the boys from the designers is the ability to see (in your mind) variations from the easy fix that change the mood and quality of the photo entirely. And this is what I’ll try to explain in this Justin Maller inspired tutorial.
The concept of this tutorial is my response to the overwhelmingly magic power of the new Content Aware Fill tool, which is part of the new Photoshop CS5. You could also call it "Why humans are better than machines", even.
