Exactly what GPNS said, Giving the user only text doesn't really help. Perhaps some images to guide the users through would make it much better. Your Thumbnail looks tempting, but once your in the tutorial, your certainly disappointed.

Your getting low ratings because your not explaining yourself enough. Your final result went from a circular 'super-nova' to a decent signature. Perhaps give the users more explanation and more pictures on how to do the final image you made, instead of just 2 sentences, as it really doesn't help in re-making you result.

Just by that, I can personally tell that your not explaining enough to the user who is doing the tutorial, as he might be a beginner.
**The end result was interesting, but try making your tutorials less random, and perhaps adding more images as reference to your steps.
