You guys let tons of tutorials worse than this on here, infact you actually let on a reflection tutorial a few days ago that was FAR worse.

Why was this declined?

yes, this tutorial is very bad. doesnt even gfive you the full details, he just says "here this is what i did, maybe your will look this way to". the tutorial is not well explained at all. kinda dissapointing since the outcome is nice.

very bad, the dodge tool aint working well and the im getting to mush stars in the start

I dont disagree, but photoshop users need to learn to experment in order to truly learn how to use these tools, give them ideas and push them to try new things not just to read steps and replicate without understanding

can we change the title to orb so its more relevant?

Useful for the high pass, less so for the curves (though still useful to a point - just could have explained better).

The last step is very confusing, it was the most important step and it wasn't explained at all. Disappointing as that type of effect is something I'd like to know more about.

I don't think this is on par with good-tutorials quality and I certainly wouldn't have it published. It is just a tutorial that shows you a different way of adjusting contrast and sharpness. Once you get to step 5, the creative part, it basically tells you to go figure out the rest on your own.

Very popular effect explained, but the last step is rather confusing. Try explaining what steps you took to achieve the effect and this will be a handy tutorial.

I disagree with the aforementioned comments - there isn't a structured way of creating a logo, it's all about what looks right. However, your tutorial isn't necessarily about creating a logo. It reminds me of a simplistic orb or something.

Perhaps make a tutorial containing different techniques, including this one, on making logos. Include some basic pen work, gradients, layer styles... all that good stuff!
