The Santa Icon was an example of what my results came out to be after it was done. You can experiment with anything and it looks great without the Santa graphic.

It was necessary because the icon is decieving.. Someone needed to summarize what really is in the tutorial. Lets face it, its not beautiful without that santa graphic.

I did mention that this was a very quick and easy tutorial. So all your comment does is cover my very own point therefore it wasn't even necessary.

Oh and the snow is flat.

The final image looks amazing because of the santa graphic standing on top of it but its just a gradient canvas with little dots which you could have use your brush tool to make... Tolerable.
