This tutorial is about making a “mac” style background. You can use these in all sorts of situations, including the obvious – your desktop as well as part of your designs or for corporate work (powerpoint presentations, flash work etc)

Pretty sweet effect you have there. I believe this is better if done in Illustrator, much easier, but still very good to know.
I'm glad you chose the orange color scheme, too. Blue is overrated :D
