Fire in Photoshop - seamless animated loop

Thumbnail
Submitted by Graffiti » I needed, at some point, a "fire animation" that would be: 1. looping seamlessly 2. horizontally tile-able I googled and I googled, in vain - I couldn't find anything but a small tutorial about blending modes. So I took on doing it myself and with some Photoshop scribbling, I got what I wanted - horisontally tileable seamlessly looping fire.

Nice technique, good idea, usable, not to the end realistic, but show something new (for me) :) [good]

RaggaRaven: thank you for your comment. Yes, realism is something to still work on with this one. But hey, it's a start :) Any ideas for improvements?

i have no ideas to how to make it better=T just only, that for serious art i recommend to make some different end effects and then just connect them, to got not just a repeatable animated texture... and maybe save animation slower than U, for flash it will be nothing bad... U can also change the colours to the more white at the center of the fire, and orange at the edges, not a red, but the bckgrnd is black, so it's ok... If anyone know how to make it better, it is the best:) greetings

All these color-related tweakings can be easily accomplished in those layers - you just have to play with colour and masks to tweak it further. You can achieve unlimited variations - I only gave you the starter's kit here ;)
