Your right, it does look more like chimney smoke. To make gun smoke give it a higher floatUpSpeed and a smaller puff of smoke. I had it as gun smoke and then decided that it lost the quality that I wanted people to see. Maybe I can find a nice winter cabin scene. Thanks for the comment!

Well explained, a decent effect and some actual explanation of the code (!!). I minor gripe is that I think the smoke would be better suited to something like a chimney, but maybe that's me being pedantic. :P One of the better flash tutorials IMO.
