Tutorial goal:
In my previous tutorial “Create your own feather” I showed you how to create a single feather. In this tutorial I will show you how to turn that single feather into a pair of wings.

Credits earned for writing this tutorial:
1000 ($10)
step 1
Firstly you need to sketch out the design of the wings you wish to create (I have supplied a guide sketch you can use with this tutorial) otherwise I suggest looking for an image that will give you a good reference guide to work from.

step 2
Using the previous tutorial create a straight feather using the settings as shown. I have created feathers of two sizes for this particular tutorial these being a 150 x 150 pixel feather and a 250 x 250 pixel feather.

step 3
Create the first row of feathers, the easiest way to do this to practice this tutorial is to use the template I have provided as your background.

step 4
Now using the size 150 feather cut and paste it onto your background. To do this open the image the press Ctrl A then Ctrl C and then move your cursor over to the background and click on that image and then press Ctrl V. A copy of your feather will now be placed onto your background as shown here.

step 5
Now by pressing Ctrl T you can move the feather into the position you wish to place it into. If you need to increase or decrease the size of the feather then hold down the CAPS LOCK AND SHIFT KEY TOGETHER and drag the corner. By holding down these keys this will ensure that the aspect ratio is correct.
