Boom! Feature Requests

Posted by Zach Holman almost 3 years ago

I'm looking to liven the place up a bit. What's been your biggest pet peeves with Good-Tutorials? Your favorite parts that could use a refresh? Any other killer ideas you'd like to see happen?

Now's your chance- sound off in the comments and we'll have a bit of a discussion on making tutorials even good-er!

The Idea has been tossed around a fair bit, but I wouldn't mind seeing a new "Article" category

You mean adding categories for each topic? As in, Photoshop would have its own "Article" category, and Flash would have its own category?

yea

Cough, thumbnail size, cough. Also, a more obvious link to upcoming tutorials. Something else that might work, is a "similar" section on the tutorial detail page, that will show tutorials "similar" to the one you are viewing. A lot of microstock sites use this feature - might have to be based on keyword or description.

As webdev64 said the similar tutorial section idea would be a good addition to the site :D

I like all of those ideas, webdev64. I've been gearing to bump the icons for awhile but just haven't gotten around to it quite yet, but I agree it'd be great to get a bit higher than 40x40.

A new design? ;-) Ok, not so much a feature. I feel like this design was done by a programmer, which isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world :-)

Just out of curiosity, is there any way that you could create something that would filter/remove all dead links?
